New rules for VFR traffic
The introduction of the revised German Flugsicherungs An- und Abflug-Kostenverordnung (FSAAKV) caused concern among pilots across Germany because it placed an additional burden on VFR traffic below 2 t MTOW. The new Flugsicherungsbeauftragungsverordnung (FSBV) addressed this issue. Under this regulation, Leipzig-Altenburg Airport does not levy air navigation charges on VFR flights by aircraft with a maximum take-off mass of up to 2 t.
