Initial call

Before entering the RMZ, make an initial call to ALTENBURG INFORMATION on 123.580. The initial call must include:

01

The identification of the station being called

02

Your aircraft call sign and aircraft type

03

Your position, altitude and flight intentions

Maintain a continuous listening watch while flying within the RMZ. You must also report when leaving the RMZ or the frequency. Make these calls even if there is no reply from the ground station.

Please contact ALTENBURG INFORMATION, even if you plan to overfly the airport above the RMZ. Standard IFR approach procedures begin at 5000 ft above the airfield, and departing IFR traffic usually leaves the RMZ by climbing through its upper limit. Please also be aware that an aerobatic area (up to 5000 ft) is established at the airport and skydiving takes place regularly.
